What you’ll do

As the International Senior Manager, you will support delivery of the International strategy through business development and the management of premium customers. This role will be responsible for identifying and developing international development opportunities as well as working with our premium customers.

  • Conceptualise international business opportunities and own the cycle of development from start to finish
  • Provide insightful market intelligence based on a comprehensive customer knowledge and relationship management program including competitive analysis and specialised premium customer management
  • Increase and retain the customer base by identifying and executing new initiatives and technology, products, promotions, and incentive programs
  • Work with our premium customers in meeting their needs
  • Maintain relationships with key business partners and key stakeholders across all areas of the business
  • Research market trends to identify growth and retention opportunities and communicate high level market insight to key internal stakeholders

We are looking for a Business Development Manager (BDM) who will report directly to the National Network Manager and be responsible for the development of the Sydney client base through introducing new clients to the business.

To be successful in your application you will need to have a strong background in a similar sales role and be able to demonstrate what it takes to successfully build relationships and win business.

Position Objectives and Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a sales pipeline to effectively achieve weekly sales budget.
  • Source marketplace to provide tender opportunities by effectively prospecting and acquiring new business that meets the organisations target profile.
  • Develop strategies to maximise business opportunities, market awareness and grow market share.
  • Carry out detailed qualitative and quantitative analysis on potential customers and develop strategies to secure new business.

Experience

  • At least 5 years’ experience in sales related role.
  • An understanding of the end to end logistics function and how to develop these functions for new clients - you understand the meaning of 'value adding'.
  • Knowledge of Transport and Freight Forwarding/Distribution.
  • Knowledge of regional distribution networks advantageous.
  • Proven track record of acquiring and building new business.
  • Strong Sales background in Transport & Logistics Sector essential.

Purpose of Role

The Partnerships and Business Development Director will be an important member of the executive team as we continue to build a well-resourced, accountable, responsive organization, established as a respected leader in the field of community arts/cultural development and education.

Responsibilities include:

  • Strategic and organizational planning
  • Development and implementation of business and fundraising strategies
  • Diversification of revenue streams, including revenue generation for community through licensing of outcomes and educational packages.
  • Development/ management of relationships with state and national partners across tourism, education and arts sector.
  • Oversee Finance and Administration Manager
  • Development of corporate partnerships
  • Review and update of policy and procedural documents
  • Collaboration with SharingStories team to support the strategic direction of SharingStories and partner communities

Selection Criteria

Candidates must address the following selection criteria by demonstrating their experience as they relate to the above role responsibilities:

  • Must be Aboriginal and/or Torres Straits Islander decent*
  • Ability to design, plan, implement and track a range of initiatives
  • Strategic and systematic
  • Digital system confidence
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as the ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders, partners and with Indigenous communities
  • Relationship management skills, ability to build and maintain relationships of trust and respect with cross sectoral partners.
  • Experience in developing and managing financial plans and reporting financials to funders, Executive Director and Board
  • Ability to travel between 4-6 weeks per annum to meetings with partners and team as well as community across Australia
  • Ability to work with Indigenous People and understand sensitivities regarding Indigenous cultures/ protocols
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and prioritize as required.
  • The ability to use initiative and work proactively while working independently from a home office and as a team as required.
  • Ability to use online project management systems confidently as required.
